Orchids are my absolute favorite flower. “Pastel Orchid” represents my effort to take an original photograph and create an artistic impression of the possible. Nature has made the orchid perfect, though we have taken it upon ourselves to challenge the natural order by cross breading and creating hybrid species of various plants.

To that end, “Pastel Orchid” is my attempt to create a new work drawn from what nature has offered. I like the final result and I’m also pleased that the DNA in the original flower was not lost in this cross pollination of photography and digital art.
