Bashful Boulder is another of my Garden of the Gods series. This image was shot on the day of a hard freeze after a night time blizzard blew through the Garden of the Gods National Park in Colorado. I spent most of the day trudging through a foot of hard packed snow with deer, fox, cougars and a few other harty souls, none of whom were hunan but me. This shot and it's companion, Peek A Boo are two of my favorites from that day. The balance of the frozen scrub oak off-set by the rich reds and browns of the weatered sandstone provided one of natures great contrasts. No post production work was done on this piece, it is as nature gave it to us - pure.
