Blue Ridge Mountains was shot of course during the fall, though the colors are muted as a result of a dry spring and summer followed by an unseasonably warm fall they add to the sense of calm that fills this scene. The colors blend naturally into the blue hue this area is so aptly named for.

As with many of my shots you are easily transported back to this very place and time and if you really concentrate you can hear the breeze blowing and the leaves gently rustling. If you really pay attention you can just faintly hear the hawk that was enjoying the very same view we are experiencing.

I hope you enjoy this scenic splendor as much as I did, the only thing closer to the calm still afternoon this shot captured would be if you were right there with me at the time, but then again – you are at this moment.
